GoChatty Review: Is It a Good Place to Search for Love?

GoChatty.com has recently appeared on my radar, and I couldn’t resist a chance to test it and see if it’s any good. So, is GoChatty legit? What sets it apart from other dating sites? Read on to find out!

What is GoChatty? When I first found GoChatty, it seemed like just another dating site, but the more I explored, the more neat features and unique tools I found. It’s definitely worth a try if you love with your eyes. With so many photos and videos in every profile, even a free membership is worth the 60 seconds you’ll spend on registration.

Like with any dating site I test, I came across some GoChatty scam allegations and complaints about the prices. Well, the rates could be lower, but they aren’t too bad if you pace yourself. I got the largest bundle, which would have bought me over 8 hours of live chat had I not experimented with other features.

Aside from unlocking premium features, paid membership will also make your profile appear higher among the search results. Besides, your messages will appear at the top of conversation lists, and you’ll receive up to three times more super matches. I’m honestly unsure whether these benefits work, but access to round-the-clock support and all the other advanced tools was worth the expense.

How to use GoChatty

You know, I couldn’t merely rely on Gochatty.com reviews and had to test it personally to formulate my opinion, so that’s exactly what happened. And I’m here to report my findings.

Creating a GoChatty profile was easy. I went with the tried-and-true Google account signup. If you have a separate email, I suggest you do the same. Otherwise, you can log in using your email and password. The dating site will only ask who you are looking for and your date of birth. The whole process only takes a minute, but you will also need to verify your email before you can work on filling out your dating profile.

Although I could immediately start searching for potential matches, I worked on my dating profile first. Here is how I went about it and my recommendations if you decide to try GoChatty:

1. Start with the standard fields. Your name, date of birth, education, occupation, marital status, location, and other details will not take too long to add. The interest section is particularly handy with 10+ major categories like sports, hobbies, and politics. Each of them comes with multiple choices for you to add to your profile. 
2. Write your story in the About section. The dating profile supports up to 2,000 characters, but you don’t have to write that much. I suggest avoiding repeating what you have already mentioned in the standard fields. Instead, focus on your character traits and what you are looking for in a partner. 
3. Upload photos. Although your main profile picture is critical for gaining attention, the more photos you upload, the easier it will be for potential matches to start conversations. I suggest at least a handful of pictures, close-ups, and full-body shots, preferably in different outfits and locations. Ideally, you want your photos to align with your dating profile. For example, if you frequent the gym, upload a selfie from your latest workout.

Considering that GoChatty uses your profile details to suggest matches, do not skip this step if you want to find suitable partners quickly.

When I tested GoChatty, I didn’t expect to find anything new. The basic search feature is pretty standard. I went to the People tab and played around with filters, specifying gender, age range, and location. The only difference I found is that GoChatty uses continents instead of countries to match you with singles. 

However, my favorite was the Topics tab. 

It looks like a swiping interface, but you can choose the theme of the photos, and GoChatty will provide a list of matching profiles. For example, if I were a fan of athletic girls, I could choose the gym topic to find all members with profile photos in workout gear. I found over two dozen topics, including bikinis and photos with pets or no makeup. Each new topic you choose is added to your filters without canceling the others. So, if you want a specific look, start with a single topic and remember to check it off before experimenting with another one.

By the way, both the People and Topics tabs list search results with actionable buttons. So, not only can you add the members you like to your favorites, but you can also like their profiles, view them in detail, or start messaging immediately.

➡️ Communication features

Live chat and mail are true primary communication tools on GoChatty.

Live chat is perfect for real-time communication, and it supports multiple media message types. Aside from photos, you can also upload voice messages, as well as disappearing photos and video files, which will be deleted from your chat after 12 hours. To make it resemble popular messengers, GoChatty also incorporates emojis and stickers, but I don’t recommend using the latter since they cost 5 to 10 GoCoins. 

As GoChatty welcomes members from all over the world, the time difference is a challenge. For that, mail is perfect. I found letters particularly helpful for first interactions, considering the first message is cheaper, and you can upload up to 10 files for free, including photos and short videos up to 30 seconds. I composed one introductory letter and chose a handful of pictures and clips to send to other members to let them get to know me better and decide if they wanted to chat with me. It was a winning strategy, and I got plenty of responses.

At first, I was put off by GoChatty’s lack of an FAQ or Help Center. Even after testing dozens of dating sites, I had questions about this platform’s work. But after a few minutes, I realized I had everything I needed without resorting to tutorials. For example, whenever I wondered about pricing, I just had to look closer to find the rates listed neatly under the chat and mailboxes.Unlike many dating sites, GoChatty offers 24/7 support. It’s available via the Support button in the profile menu (top right corner). I wanted to learn more about GoCoins, so I chatted with Ace, the support manager. He was kind enough to explain the pricing and charges to me. I expected useless chatbot answers, so talking with a human agent was actually a nice surprise.
